VitrA tripled its bathroom furniture production capacity with the acquisition of the German burgbad company, the leader of the luxury bathroom furniture market in Europe.

Established in 1946, Burgbad produced wooden toys for children and coffee grinders for 20 years before shifting its production strategy and entering the bathroom furniture industry.

Today, Burgbad manufactures premium bathroom furniture and bathroom products under the brand name Burgbad and is the leader of the luxury bathroom furniture market in Europe. Burgbad combines form and functionality with superior materials to ensure durability, solidity and reliability.

In July 2008, Eczacibasi Building Products acquired a majority of Burgbad AG in a deal that established a total value of Euro 70,8 million for the company. Burgbad AG has three subsidiaries – Burgkama GmbH, S.E.P. and Miral GmbH.

Burgbad has 600 employees at three plants in Germany and one in France and sales offices in the UK, US, Netherlands, Austria, Denmark, Belgium and Luxembourg.
