Cleaning the SSG Washbasin

First of all, the water overflow drain of the washbasin must be checked and also attention must be paid that the products are fitted with overflow collet. This collet is used for the purpose of concealing the rebarbative smudge accumulating within the overflow drain.

Discoloration at the Washbasins

When checking the washbasins, attention must be paid for discoloration. In time, discoloration occurs at the washbasins due to the problems arising at the glazing layer of the basins. The high quality material used and the applied production techniques ensure prohibition of the discolorations arising due to conditions of use.

Checking for the Cracks on the Product

One of the issues you must primarily pay attention to at the bathroom of the house you are moving into concerns whether there is any crack on the products. In particular, the cracks occurring at the toilet flush tank side lead to water leaks and deepening of the cracks in due time might lead to breaking of your wash basin, thus  such cracks are dangerous. As recognizing the presence of any cracks after moving into the house shall annoy you again with the challenging modification and rectification operations, it shall be better to detect such cracks in advance. As determined by the tests conducted on the products of the high-quality brands, the size of the cracks that might occur due to any external factor (falling, impact, etc.) do not exceed 5mm; however the ordinary products are not subjected to the necessary tests and such value is not taken into consideration.

Tarnishing Occurring at the Armatures

The capacities and performances of the armatures used at the washbasins, bathtubs and showers differ depending on the type of the armature used. The armature body must be checked for presence of any scratches, tarnishing or any deformation. The daily cleaning of the armature must be performed by using only water and soap. The armature must be rinsed thoroughly with plenty of water after cleaning and must be wiped with a soft fabric. Detergents and cleaning agents with high acidity content must not be used for the purpose of cleaning the armature surfaces.

Checking the Armature

If the plumbing at the house is operational, the armature must be checked for proper operation. In this manner, we can understand whether there is any water leak, whether the armatures cause significant pressure drops and whether the armature produces noise during operation. In addition, the form of the water flow is another issue to be attentive to. In this manner, it is possible to understand whether an aerator is used and consider that the armature is of water saving type. The aerator is the part inserted at the discharge end of the armature and ensures silent, regular flow of water without any splashes. If the building you are moving into is a newly constructed building, the aerator congests significantly faster than normal. In this case, the intermediate faucet must be checked or the aerator must be removed and cleaned. This process must be repeated with certain intervals. While the armatures of other brands available in the sector allow for flowing of 12-13 liters of water per minute, the armatures of high-quality brands allow for flowing of 7.5-8 liters of water per minute.

Checking the toilet bowl

One of the locations where we consume most amount of water in the house is the toilet. The studies report that a single individual consumes an average of 49.140 liters of water per year at the toilets. The technological advancements enabled construction of flush cisterns that consume 6/9 liters or 3/6 liters of water. Water consumption figures of these models save 60% more water when compared to the standard models.  When checking the toilet bowl installed at the bathroom of the house you will move into, first of all the flush tank must be activated in order to check whether the toilet flush tank is operational. Meanwhile, attention must also be paid to whether the flush tank generates any noise and the float valve check is completed in this manner. The float valves of some high-quality brands are checked before the product is shipped from the factory. After this check, the toilet bowl flush cistern must be uncovered in order to check whether there is any yellowing or tarnishing inside the flush cistern. While no discoloration other than long-term contamination due to no cleansing activity is observed at the products of some high-quality brands, the products of the brands with extremely low quality standard frequently present this type of problems.

Hygienic Toilet Bowls
Another issue that must be taken into consideration in the course of checking the toilet bowl concerns to what extent the toilet bowl is serviceable in terms of hygiene. As the water flowing section and the toilet flush section is completed glazed at the products of the high-quality brands, no formation of bacteria is observed at the flush cistern section. This, in turn, ensures hygienic and sanitary use, while the ordinary brands cannot offer 100% reliability in this respect.

Toilet Bowl Load
The toilet seat might contain germs, bacteria and fungi, etc. You can minimize the risk of infection only by preventing propagation of the undesirable germs, fungi, etc. Replacement of the standard toilet seats requires a long time and is an unfavorable process in terms of hygiene. Such replacement process requires execution of some operations in order, such as removal of upper and lower screws, seating the hinges in place, etc. The toilet seats of some brands, however, enable easily dismountable. Furthermore, it is also possible to find more hygienic toilet bowls that is easily removable by means of a special mechanism and thus the hinge section can be cleaned with ease. If there are wall-hung toilet bowls and concealed flush cisterns installed in the bathroom, checking the load-bearing capacity of the toilet bowl might have priority before other checks. There are some brands in the market that offer a load-bearing capacity of 400 kg as documented with international quality certifications.

Checking the Control Button on the Flush Cisterns
If there is flush cistern installed inside the wall in the bathroom of the house you will move into; then the mechanism and buttons of the flush cistern must be checked. It shall be possible to check whether the flush cistern is functional by pressing the control button. If the concealed cistern control panel is not functional, then it is possible to access to the float valve easily by removing the panel. Preferring the products of the firms offering high-quality services shall be to your benefit, as the products of these firms present proven endurance by subjecting the products to tests for 10,000 times.

Checking the Bidet Nozzle
Another issue you must be attentive to at the bathroom of the house you will move into is to check the bidet nozzle and the water flow. While the discharge ends of the bidet nozzles of most products accommodate dirt and rust, the standard bidet nozzles installed at the products of some certain brands with proven performance in terms of quality standards are designed to avoid accumulation of dirt and rust.

The Materials to be Preferred at the Bathtubs
After performing the checks on the products such as the washbasin, armature and toilet bowl, the bathtub area must be checked. First of all, it is important to check the materials. Acrylic is an easily cleanable, hygienic and durable material (it is not brittle). Acrylic is not easily scratched, and even if it is scratched, it is possible to eliminate and rectify such damages at the bathtub surface practically by employing emery, polishing and water. Using any other material apart from acrylic might cause problems in hygienic terms, as the panels of the acrylic bathtubs must be designed in an easily dismountable manner in the event when the sewage drains becomes congested.  The product must be checked against any cracks, fractures or any hygienic problems and against any sections with possibility of any water leak. In the event of any need for maintenance arises, it must be possible to remove the panels and perform maintenance on the sewage drain. Acrylic bathtubs are lighter, more durable and hygienic when compared to the old system bathtubs, thus they are easy to transport and assembly and easy to maintain and clean. There are some companies that manufacture the entire product line from 100% hygienic acrylic materials.

Checking the Bathroom Armatures
The armatures installed in the bathroom are activated to enable flow of water for the purpose of checking whether they are functioning smoothly and to check whether there is any congestion and whether the water flow presents any irregularity. In particular, the aerators installed at the armatures in the newly constructed buildings present high congestion possibility. The check must be conducted taking this fact into consideration. Particular attention must be paid whether there is any leak between the hand shower and connection points. In the meantime, you must also be attentive to check that the connections of the overhead shower and hand shower are sound and watertight. The defect liability periods and the economic life of the products installed also constitute a significant detail. The product guarantee and the economic life of the recognized firms that offer high-quality products are approximately 5 years.

Points to Consider When Checking the Shower Tray
It shall be beneficial to check the shower tray located in the bathroom. If the plumbing is functional, the water must be turned on and water must be allowed to flow for some time. If there is any water accumulation inside the shower tray or the bathtub, this represents that the siphon section is not of standard manufacture. This means that the water discharge rate of the siphon is slower than the water flow rate, which, in turn, leads to accumulation of water inside the bathtub. As such circumstances shall cause formation of an anti-hygienic medium inside the bathtub, it shall be best for the user to take necessary precautions.

Points to Consider at the Bathroom Furniture
The most important point to consider at the bathroom furniture is that the furniture must be manufactured from hygienic material allowing frequent cleaning and designed in such manner that the edge and angle details forbids easy accumulation of dirt and microbial growth. The furniture must be checked whether there is any swelling, cleavage and any water impact. In addition, the hinges of the bathroom cabinets and the rails of the drawers must be checked for smooth operation. If any problem is detected, such problem must be solved promptly as your furniture will live with you for a long time.

Checking the Electrical Points
The most significant hazard in the bathroom is to have water and electricity collocated. Against this hazard, first of all, the bathroom must be free from all kinds of obstacles against any accident risk or it shall be beneficial to always keep the bathroom organized and neat against any accident possibility.  If there are any electric sockets installed in the bathroom, such sockets must absolutely not be of open type sockets, but you must prefer sockets with safety caps. As water is an extremely conductive substance, do not leave any instrument as plugged into the socket in your bathroom. In particular, take care not to operate electrical instruments such as hairdryer, etc. in wet and vaporous bathroom as far as possible.

Checking the Antibacterial Silicon
It is recommended to apply silicon to the sections in contact with the flooring during assembly of the toilet bowls in order to provide a better appearance.

There must be no visible surging on the products wall assembly surface and no clearance between the wall and the assembly. Standards applicable by our company do not exceed 3 mm. There must be no surging on the surface. Attention must be paid not to leave any clearance between the walls during the assembly.

If there is any shower screen installed at the bathtub section, the joints and the rails must be checked. Specific attention must be paid to the sections susceptible to rusting and sections that might prevent the intended function.

If the toilet bowl is installed to the floor, the sewage drain distance of the new toilet bowl must be measured. The newly installed toilet bowl must be suitable for operation with the installation installed inside the floor without any problem. Otherwise, the rear section of the flush cistern shall have some distance with the wall.

If the toilet bowl is installed on the wall (wall-hung toilet bowl) then the length of the new toilet bowl must be checked. If necessary, the length of the interconnection pipe must be adjusted.

The size of the plumbing must be checked. The existing plumbing and the new installation must be compatible. It might not be possible to install other armature types to the desired locations.

For the bathtub section, the size of the sewage drain of the removed bathtub and the shower tray must be considered. The new product must be compatible to fit such size.

When you want to remove the standard toilet bowl and install a wall-hung model, then the size of the installation must be checked. The form of the wall must also be checked (drywall and brick wall). The concealed flush cistern to be selected shall be identified according to the type of the wall. Quick install concealed flush cisterns are preferred for the drywall applications.

The concealed flush cistern can either be installed as concealed within the wall or might be situated at the front side as a set depending on the bathroom space. If the concealed flush cistern shall be situated at the front section, then quick installation type must be preferred.
